Artist Bio
Social Iso formed in the late before times, the night before the pandemic related cancelation of South By Southwest, in what would be the last in person meeting of the group for months. As the implications of the global pandemic came into focus, the three Austin based collaborators shared their experiences of loss, uncertainty, boredom, loneliness and their own privilege through music. What started as a casual song swap among three friends to pass the time at home grew into a cathartic chronicle of a collective journey through a strange new world. In a 2020 update of The Postal Service model, the group collaborated on ideas and partial songs with each other from the safety of their homes through a shared drive and finished work on the record with Jet Jobob Rodel at DUP Recording Studio in Burnet, Texas. Social Iso’s debut album, Life Behind the Screen, was released via Quarter Turn Records on February 5, 2021.
